Australian dancer Max Ostler is among the final 11 acts to perform in the live shows of America’s Got Talent Season 17 for a chance to go to the Finals. It’s up to America to vote for him as the competition heats up.

AGT Dancer Max Ostler Has Been Dancing All His Life

The 18-year-old dancer from Sydney shared in his audition that he’d been taking dance classes for 10 years, but he’s “always been dancing” since he was even younger. At 13, Max made his debut as a professional dancer in a pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty.

He’s since performed at events such as Australian Fashion Week and the Australian Dance Festival. He’s also performed around the world, including in Singapore with Dream Dance Company, and in Las Vegas for the Get the Beat dance competition.

In 2018, Max said in an interview, “I love dancing because it is so creative and free, it allows me to explore my body, flexibility and limitations in a way that I can express myself to others.”

Before his audition for AGT, the young dancer said he dreams of being “the most sought-out choreographer and dancer in the world.” He traveled by himself from Australia to audition for the judges. Although his parents have always supported him, he said he’s gone through periods of self-doubt.

Max Impressed the Judges in His Audition

Max told the judges that he would be dancing a “solo lyrical piece” for his audition. He danced to “Falling Like the Stars” by James Arthur, leaping across the stage and showing incredible grace in an effortless routine.

Simon Cowell described his performance as “magic from the minute it started to the minute it ended.” Sofia Vergara told Max not to doubt himself, telling him, “This is for you.” He earned four “yes” votes from the judges to move on, and now he’s performing in the live shows.

Check out Max’s latest performance during Tuesday night’s new episode of AGT. You can also vote for him to move on to the Finals either on the NBC website or through the AGT app.
